Seamus, the Mad Hatter's infamy is known throughout Malifaux and beyond. Newspaper headlines brazenly display the grisly details of his crimes, each news story more sensational than the last. While others came to Malifaux in search of the rare and powerful resource known as soulstones, Seamus came in search of something equally rare and powerful - the secrets of necromancy.
Until the opening of the Breach necromancy was an Earthside myth. Once the Breach was opened the myth became reality. The residents of Old Malifaux had stumbled across the secrets of resurrecting the dead and recorded them in numerous writings which remain scattered across Malifaux, moldering in ancient libraries or hidden in the rubble of once-great mansions.
Soon after his arrival in Malifaux Seamus unlocked the mysteries of undeath and put them to work. Unlike his fellow Resurrectionists he has taken a more literal interpretation of the writings. He believes they form a direct connection to something called the Grave Spirit. He tirelessly searches for this entity, conducting horrific rituals and experiments in an effort to contact the Grave Spirit. He believes he can unlock its secrets and capture its ancient knowledge of undeath for himself.
Seamus works best when accompanied by his Belles. Not only does his presence in an Encounter enhance their abilities, but he is also able to raise those who fall during a fight and get them back into action. Although Seamus does use his Belles as fodder he is no slouch when it comes to combat. His flintlock can lay low most Minions in a single shot while he can withstand massive amounts of damage with his Hard to Wound and Hard to Kill abilities. These abilities allow him to take risks in combat that other Masters shy away from.
The best place to start collecting a Seamus Crew is with The Redchapel Gang which should give you enough models to play a small game. If you want to expand on this Seamus can hire a wide range of models as he has access to most of the Resurrectionist range. Below are a few suggestions, but what you choose is up to you.
Seamus' little fiend comes along with a big weapon giving you a second .50 flinlock shot each turn. He can also switch position with Seamus if things are getting dicey
The floating spirits of those hung by the guild work very well with Seamus, both have ways of making the opponent flee in terror.
One thing Seamus' Belles can lack is killing power. Bête Noire can cause an aweful lot of damage with her blades.
The reanimated corpses of miners trapped underground. These undead can give you some nice ranged support. They can also set up traps for the Belle's to lure the enemy into.
The Convict Gunslinger can put out a wall of lead with his two pistols, when combined with Seamus' Flintlock you can all but garentee your target's death.
