The wild and untamed lands stretching beyond the City's borders are filled with exotic plants and creatures that have adapted to Malifaux's harsh environments. Marcus has dedicated himself to bending these powerful beasts to the Arcanist cause. Beyond simply taming wild animals, Marcus has pioneered a new brand of magic which augments the creatures' natural abilities. Chimerancy also blends the traits of multiple creatures together to create new monsters which can be released on the Arcanists' enemies.
Not satisfied with experimenting solely on beasts, Marcus also conducts experiments on the human animal. His intellectual endeavors have given him the strengths and senses of the animals he studies. He is no longer only human, but a hybridization of man and monster. His charges see him as their Alpha and are willing to lay down their lives for him.
His Arcanist allies see great potential in Marcus' experiments despite his unwillingness to return to civilization and join directly in their struggle. He prefers to fight the Guild on his own terms; ambushing stagecoaches with the aid of his creations, or sabotaging a fledgling Guild settlement or mine. For Marcus, the City represents a life he left behind when he passed through the Breach, a life he has no interest in continuing.
Overview
Marcus is able to hire Beasts from any Faction in the game. His abilities allow him to exert his dominance over any Beast, and even turn opposing models into Beasts he can then affect with his abilities. His Stare Down Action and Alpha Spell can create havoc in an opposing Crew as he hinders enemy models' actions or takes control of them outright. By using Wild Heart, Marcus' melee combat options vary depending on the situation and opponent giving him some flexibility against a wide range of foes.
Starting Marcus
The best place to start collecting a Marcus Crew is with the Order of the Chimera which should give you enough models to play a small game. If you want to expand on this Marcus can hire a wide range of models as he has access to most of the Arcanist range and Beasts from any faction. Below are a few suggestions, but what you choose is up to you.

Jackalope
The Jackalope, Marcus' totem, is a rabbit with horns and sharp pointy teeth. It is nigh on impossible to kill and keeps popping back up to nibble on the enemy.

Hoarcat Pride
Small packs of feral cats that can swarm over the enemy and consume them when fielded in numbers.

Molemen
Tough, cheap and able to tunnel through terrain and protect themself under a pile of earth.

Silurids
Marcus can use any beast including the Silurid. Silurid live in the Bayou. they are fast, camoflaged and can leap over intervening terrain.

Shikome
Shikome is another beast that Marcus can use. Shikome are spirits that fly across the battlefield hunting down their prey. They are brutal an efficiant killing machines.
