The Arcanists

Anasalea Kaeris

Anasalea Kaeris dirties her hands so the Arcanist leadership does not have to. She is the consummate professional, patient and efficient in removing obstacles that stand in her way and getting the results the Arcanists selected her to get. Many incidents the Guild suspects Arcanist involvement in have gone unsolved thanks to Kaeris' talents for leaving no loose ends. Her demand for excellence means she has surrounded herself with assets she can depend on to the same degree as her employers can depend on her.

Kaeris is only now realizing her magical potential. Part of her contract with the Arcanists is an education in spellcraft. Ramos has taken this fledgling spellcaster under his wing and created for her a winged harness capable of gathering and directing her wild talents in a focused direction. With his guidance Kaeris knows she can become a talented magician, further increasing her value to her employers or if not them the next bidder to meet her price.

Overview

Kaeris' main talent is the manipulation of Burning Counters which she then uses to activate other abilities such as her Accelerant and Immolate Spells. She inflicts a good deal of damage both with her Ignite weapon and her offensive Spells. She has a respectable stat line, which helps increase her survivability. Her ability to fly further increases her value as terrain and intervening models do not slow her down as they do non-flying models.

The best place to start collecting a Kaeris Crew will be with her box set which will give you enough models to play a small game. If you want to expand on this Kaeris can hire M&SU Assets or Members. Below are a few suggestions, but what you choose is up to you.

Miners & Steamfitters Union on Strike

Striking members of the M&SU shut down Hurrycross Bridge today with a march that prevented City traffic from accessing the popular River crossing point. Outspoken advocate for miners' rights, Dr. Viktor Ramos predicted further miner strikes if contract labor's working conditions were not thoroughly evaluated by the Guild and new policies and procedures put into place.

New Species Discovered

Guild zoologists on an expedition to track the mating habits of the Slate Ridge mauler were stunned when they stumbled across an odd quadruped with what appeared to be wings and a human's torso. The creature left the area before the scientists could adequately document it.

New Play Begins Run At Star Theater

The Star Theater opened its new play, The Gregarious Guardsman, to a packed house last night. Despite the many catcalls and boos from a normally respectful audience the actors performed admirably. The play blends song, dance, comedy, magic acts, and more than one slight jab at the Governor General into a ribald treat.

Bad Weather Closes Down Access to the Mountains

Travelers hoping to explore the mountains north of Malifaux and beyond were forced to return to the City when an unseasonably harsh spate of snow storms closed all known routes through the ranges. Evidence gathered by a joint Elite Division investigation points to the storms being magical in nature, but the cause of them remains undisclosed to this newspaper.
