Created by the residents of Old Malifaux to entertain their children, Collodi was left on its own when that civilization collapsed. For years the Construct was alone, its sole purpose left unfulfilled as it wandered from empty city to empty city. No cries of joy or hearty laughter welcomed Collodi, just a brutal silence. An immeasurable time spent with its sole purpose for existence left unfulfilled created within the Construct's artificial brain a void. The void drew all of Collodi's thoughts to it, turning them into what it slowly came to realize it was feeling abandoned and very much alone, true emotions.
Collodi sought out a way to quell these emotions. It created puppets in the likenesses of children dead and gone for centuries and performed for them. It even found a lesser Breach through to Earth, but by then its feelings had turned the once jovial Construct resentful and bitter.
When children returned to Malifaux Collodi was waiting. It created new puppets with which to entertain the new residents. The disappearances which follow in the wake of Collodi's travelling show are never solved. Instead, new puppets appear in each new town. Collodi wants nothing more than to make humanity feel the loss and abandonment it endured for so long.
Collodi's control over Dolls and Marionettes allows it to creatively take control of an Encounter. It can use its Minions to move quickly across the tabletop while at the same time boosting their abilities. Collodi can use friendly models as shields when it is attacked, directing the effects onto them instead of itself. Players interested in models with creative uses will find Collodi an entertaining addition to their collections.
The best place to start collecting a Collodi Crew is with The Puppeteer Box Set which should give you enough models to play a small game. If you want to expand on this Collodi can only hire Dolls. Below are a few suggestions, but what you choose is up to you.
